Fiat will be officially back in the rallies next 20th January at the Rallye Automobile Monte-Carlo 2005, first round of the World Championship, with a Fiat Punto Abarth Rally (Super 1600) driven by Mirco Baldacci (with Giovanni Bernacchini as co-driver).
Fiat in the 2005 will face three different Championships with Fiat Punto Abarth Rally (Super 1600): the already said FIA Junior World Rally Championship, the FIA European Rally Championship with Giandomenico Basso (Mitia Dotta co-driver) and the Italian Rally Championship with Paolo Andreucci (Anna Andreussi co-driver), 2003 Italian Champions.
FIA Junior World Rally Championship - reserved to Under 28 drivers and Super 1600 car, will have the following calendar (Seven rounds): Rallye Automobile Monte-Carlo, Rally Italia-Sardinia, Acropolis Rally of Greece, Rally Finland, Rallye Deutschland, Rallye de France - Tour de Corse, Rally de Catalunya - Espana. Ten will be the rounds of FIA European Rally Championship: Rally 1000 Miglia - Italy, Rajd Polski - Poland, Belgium Ypres Westhoek Rally, Bulgaria Rally, Rallye Vinho Da Madeira - Portugal, Barum Rally Zlin - Czech Republic, Fiat Rally - Turkey, Elpa Rally - Greece, Rallye d´Antibes - France. Italian Rally Championship will start next 20th March with Rally il Ciocco. It foresees 10 rounds (4 on gravel road and 6 on tarmac).
In 2005 too, Fiat keep on organizing the promotional trophy. The big new is the entrance of the Panda, togheter with Punto and Stilo. Regulations were modefied in order to give more possiblity to choose cars and rallies. It will be possibile to take part at the wheel of Punto (Super 1600, 1.8 HGT Group A and N) or of a Fiat Stilo (1.8 16v Group A and N) and of a Formula Start cars (Fiat Punto 1.2 16v, 1.4 16v and 1.3 Diesel Multijet, Fiat Panda 1.2 and 1.3 Diesel Multijet). Each Entrant can add 6 results multiplied with a difficulty and length coefficient : Italian Championship (coeff. 18), Tarmac Trophy (coeff.16), Gravel Trophy (coeff. 16), Italian Cup (coeff.15), Challenge Ronde (coeff.14), Rallysprint (coeff.12), Formula Start (coeff.11). All the results will considered by class classification.
As usual, very important prizes: a Fiat Punto Abarth Super 1600 each for Overall and Under 25 winner.
