Ciao a tutti,

Il commissario di polizia di Eastwood ha detto: "In my 34 years in the police, it is the worst I've ever seen."

thanks for sharing, sirocco. :OK)
many people forget to turn on their brains before the engine, and sometimes taking a look at the conseguences may help... :dead)

CRASH investigators are looking at whether two students from overseas killed today when their red Alfa Romeo slammed into a power pole were street racing.

Police believe the car, which was totally decimated in the crash, may have been travelling at more than 160km/h before the impact which split it into four pieces and sent the engine hurtling 50 metres down the road from the wreckage.

"These guys think they're bulletproof and it can't happen to them, and it does.''

meditare, gente, meditare...

I'll get straight to the point: two less dumb fucks messing around behind the wheel. Good riddance... You've got to be a freakin' moron to go that fast at night, when it's raining and the damn' road's slippery as shit... That's not happenstance. A wreck like that, under those circumstances means that you're pretty much seeking for a violent death. And the driver wasn't even alone. OMFG !!! Suicide + vehicular manslaughter. I've been in the law enforcement for years and I've processed a few hundres traffic accident scenes. A good 80 % of traffic accidents ( varying from traffic deaths through a simple fender-bender with a broken tail light) is usually caused by reckless driving associated with distraction. You'd be susprised to see how low the percentage of substance abuse affects the stats. I've come to the conclusion that if you're dunb enough to act like that, well the world will probably be a better place without you. It might sound a little harsh, but that's how it is...

Hey, as much as I feel for the families and friends of the occupants, I do agree with you. To decide to do such speeds in the pouring rain, well... they were "goners" as soon as the key to the ignition was turned....
Police are now suspecting the car was involved in street racing.

I dunno... Unless they have solid evidence and a background investigation it'll be kinda hard to determine whether they were racing some other idiots or not. Or if they were involved in street racing. Besides, a stock 156 wouldn't stand a chance against a street racer... Plus the scene itself doesn't look of any help... Judging from the pics it was pouring down, so there are no skid marks or stuff like that; therefore very little to work on at the crash site, except for debris and what remains of the car... Like I said, it’ll take some good old cop work to come up with anything.
Question: did anybody witness the accident?

Question: did anybody witness the accident?

No, no witnesses have come forward. Apparently the noise awoke one of the nearby residents who saw the aftermath and alerted the emergency services.

Well, I guess the case is pretty much closed, then. Two obits, a press conference, if not just another article and that's it. The same old crap...
Like I said, the world's a slightly better place now. IMHO.
