Actually what I know is that Fiat has a 8billion€ debt
Fiat has a debt-equity ratio over 3, that means 3 euro of debt for each euro of capital (autostrade is in a worst position having a ebt-equity ratio over 7).

I also read something about fiat's debt being about 8 billion, so I guess the answer is 10, because the USD 10.4 billion debt mentioned in the article is roughly equal to EUR 8 billion.

In some sites such as alfaowner and alfabb they mentioned a dept of about 4 billion dollars...where did that came from??

Lets say that the dept is now 8 billion dollars.Before alfa returns to america fiat must pay out the dept and ofcourse spend lot of money for marketing and organise the dealer network in usa.So new models and projects must go in production.Do you beleive that brera-159-punto-croma are enough?Also,do you know if berlouskoni will bail them down?

I don't think it will be enough... they desperately need to find a partner, restructure and hope that the market share increases in the next two years. Now that gm are no longer with them operational costs increase drammatically. Nobody wants to partner a comapny so high in debt. Restructuristion is hampered by italian trade unions. Compared to all competitors fiat produce fewer units (half of vw). The government say they will not help economically (correctly... fair competition!!)
